Our process and what to expect

You’ve got big questions—and they deserve thoughtful answers. Our process is designed to help you find clarity, confidence and a sense of direction, no matter where you’re starting from. It’s not just about numbers on a spreadsheet; it’s about aligning your money with your life, your values and your next chapter.

We’ll lay a strong foundation and then walk alongside you through life’s changes with care, structure and good advice when it matters most. Here’s how we do it.

Laying the initial foundation

Your roadmap to a vibrant future

We’ll start with a friendly, no-pressure phone call. This is a chance for us to get to know each other, talk about what’s brought you here and see if we’re the right fit. You can ask questions about how we work and we’ll ask a few about your situation so we can decide what comes next.

In this meeting, we’ll talk about what matters to you and not just your finances. We’ll explore your values, goals, concerns and what a good life looks like to you now and into the future. It’s a space for you to speak freely and be heard. Our role is to listen, understand and help make sense of the different pieces of your financial world.

Once we’ve analysed your situation, we’ll come back together to discuss potential strategies. We’ll share initial thoughts and recommendations tailored to your needs. This is a collaborative conversation: we’ll weigh up options, talk through trade-offs and make sure everything aligns with your goals and comfort level.

If investing is part of your plan, we’ll take time to walk through your recommended investment strategy. The team explains how it works, what the risks and opportunities are and how it fits into the bigger picture. Our goal is to make things simple and transparent, so you can feel informed and confident in every decision.

Once your strategy and investment needs are refined, we’ll present your full financial plan. There should be no surprises here because we’ve built it together. This is your roadmap—clear, practical and tailored to you. We’ll go through it together so that you understand every element, from cash flow to superannuation, investments, tax and estate planning.

We won’t leave the plan sitting on a shelf. We’ll support you through putting it into action, whether that means opening accounts, rolling over super, arranging for your insurance to be reviewed or getting legal documents in place. We’ll help you take care of the details so you can focus on the big picture.

Ongoing care

Your life evolves. So should your financial plan.

The real value of financial advice isn’t just in the initial plan we build, it’s how that plan lives and breathes alongside you. The impact of the foundational work we do together grows over time, as your goals and the world around you change, and as we get to know you, your values and your financial world more deeply. This allows us to guide you more effectively through life’s choices, transitions and opportunities.

At the heart of our ongoing relationship is your Annual Review Meeting. This is the keystone of our work together each year. During this meeting, we take a step back and look at your full financial picture—past, present and future. We review progress, reassess your goals and set a clear direction for the year ahead. It’s a chance to pause, reflect and ensure everything stays aligned with the life you want to live.

But we know life doesn’t happen once a year. That’s why we also meet with you throughout the year as needed. Some years may feel smooth and steady; others bring change, complexity or opportunity. Our commitment is to be there when you need us. We’ll respond quickly and thoughtfully when life takes a turn or a leap.

Throughout the year, we’re here to help with whatever arises, including:

  • Deciding how to manage a redundancy or early retirement offer
  • Planning a major purchase, like a new home or investment property
  • Navigating aged care options for a loved one
  • Evaluating a new job opportunity or business venture
  • Supporting a child financially, or planning a gift or inheritance
  • Responding to unexpected changes in health, family or finances

We encourage you to reach out whenever something new comes up. A new grandchild, a career change, the sale of a business or simply the question, “Can I afford to do this?”. No moment is too big or too small. If it matters to you, it matters to us.
